Obituary of Angelina Gomez

     Mrs. Angelina Gomez, 91, of Utica, passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2023, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica, with her loving family by her side.

     Angelina was born in New York City, on April 16, 1932, the daughter of Eugene and Braulia (Pratt) Gomez and received her education there.  In New York City in 1947, Angelina was united in marriage with Michael Sanchez, a loving and devoted union of 37 years until Michael’s death in 1984.  For many years, Angelina was employed as a Switchboard operator in New York City. Angelina enjoyed many hobbies and interests, including movies, music, dancing, cooking, sewing and crocheting.  She will also be remembered as a very neat and tidy person, who loved to clean.  Angelina’s greatest joy was raising her family and the precious time she spent with them.  She was of the Catholic faith.

     Mrs. Gomez is survived by one daughter, AnnMarie Sanchez of FL; sister, Mary Gomez of New York City; her cherished grandchildren, Ralphy, Roslind, German, Derrieck, Regina, Johnny, Anita, Luisito, Crystal, Jimmy, Melody, Venus, Monica, Natalie, Marty, Louie, JR, Zaza, Missy, Jasmine, Nene, Jonathan, and Joseph as well as 63 adored great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by two daughters, Sylvia Sanchez and Martha Lucille Ruiz; two sons, Luciano Cajigas and Ronald Cajigas; one sister, Anna Gomez and one brother, Eugene Gomez.

     Visitation for family and friends is Saturday, April 22, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at the conclusion of visitation.
