Obituary of Orrin Ron Serviss, Jr.

     Mr. Orrin Ron Serviss, Jr., affectionately known as Ron, age 79, of Schuyler, NY, passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica.

     Ron was born in Utica, on July 28, 1943, the son of Orrin, Sr., and Gertrude (Gage) Serviss. and was a graduate of Whitesboro High School.  For many years, Ron was employed as a truck driver with Table Talk Pies, Worcester, MA and later with Eggers, Caryl and Corrigan, Inc., in Utica. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed gardening and football, especially the New England Patriots. He was of the Presbyterian faith.

     Mr. Serviss is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Christina Serviss of Schuyler; his daughter and son-in-law, Melanie and Philip Lavier of Schuyler and a sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Gary Lashure of Deerfield, as well as several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his parents, Orrin and Gertrude and sister, Beverly Stark.

     Visitation for family and friends is Tuesday, May 16, 2023 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica, followed by a short service at 6:00 p.m. at the conclusion of visitation.  He will be laid to rest in Prospect Cemetery, Prospect, NY.

     Mr. Serviss’ family extends a special thank you to Brenda and Bishop, for the love you provided to your grandfather in caring for him over the last couple of years.
