Obituary of Judith Susan Verminski

     Mrs. Judith Susan Verminski, 58, of Floyd, NY, passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at her home, with her loving family by her side.

     Judith was born in Utica, on May 22, 1964, the daughter of Victor and Norma (Thompson) Boccardo.  She was a graduate of Whitesboro High School and later earned her RN degree from St. Elizabeth Hospital School of Nursing. At one time, Judith was married to Daniel P. Verminski, a from their union, they had two children together. For many years, Judith was employed as a Rn with Rome Hospital.  She was a captain and assistant chief with COCVAC (central Oneida County Volunteer Ambulance Corps) and a member and commissioner with Clark Mills Fire Department.  Helping others came very natural for Judith and was something she truly loved doing.  She was of the Catholic faith.

     Judith is survived by her son, Daniel P. Verminski, II of Denver, CO; daughter, Susan Burnett of Syracuse; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Jim Boccardo of Whitesboro and Michael and Holly Boccardo of NY Mills; nephews and nieces, Joe Boccardo, Alyssa Schnupp, J.D. Boccardo, Nicole Romeo and Ben Boccardo; a great niece and great nephew, Addison Schnupp and Ashton Schnupp and her beloved canine companion, Lady.  She was predeceased by her parents Victor and Norma.    

    Visitation for family and friends is Monday, May 22, 2023, from 3:00-7:00 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica.  Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Judith’s funeral Mass of Christian burial on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph & St. Patrick Church, 702 Columbia St., Utica. Those wishing to make a donation in Judith’s memory, please consider COCVAC 7489 E. South St., Clinton, NY 13323 or the American Cancer Society, 110 Lomond Court, Utica, NY 13502. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

     Judith’s family extends their heartfelt appreciation to her dear friends, Laurie Sutherland and Christine and Eric Grenier for the loving care and support you provided to Judith.
