Maria Isabel Johnson, 69, of Utica, passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica.

     Maria was born in Puerto Rico, on March 22, 1954, the daughter of Isabel Pimentel and the late Jose Rodriguez, and received her education in Puerto Rico and Utica.  Maria was a loving mother and grandmother who devoted her life to her beloved family.

     Maria is survived by her son Israel (Jessica Brown) Figueroa; mother Isabel Pimentel; 6 cherished grandchildren, Ivan Figueroa, Eliza Figueroa, Deliza Figueroa, Angelina Figueroa, Alexa Figueroa and Jasmin Figueroa and 1 great granddaughter.  She was predeceased by 3 brothers.

     Visitation for family and friends is Tuesday, May 30, 2023, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica, followed by a short prayer service at 11:00 a.m. at the conclusion of visitation.  She will be laid to rest in Forest Hill Cemetery in Utica.
