Obituary of Jane L. Michel

     Mrs. Jane L. Michel, 104, a resident of the Sitrin Healthcare Center in New Hartford, formerly of N. Utica, passed away on Sunday, June 18, 2023, at the nursing home with her loving family by her side.

     Jane was born in Herkimer, NY on November 21, 1918, the daughter of Agostino and Faustino (Fiore) Guido and received her education in Herkimer schools.  Jane proudly served in the US Army Air Corps during WW II. On March 22, 1945, Jane was united in marriage with LeRoy Michel at Hamilton Field in San Francisco, CA.  Jane was a parishioner of St. Mark’s Church in N. Utica and a member of American Legion Utica post 229 in N. Utica.  She enjoyed cooking, crocheting and especially spending time with her beloved family who were the joy of her life.

     Jane is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth (Beth) and Allen Williamson of N. Utica; her son and daughter-in-law, David and Sherryl Michel of Prospect; three cherished granddaughters, Amy Sickler and her husband, Steve, Kristy Williamson-Leo and her husband Sam and Leighann Harris and her husband Nathan and six adored great grandchildren, Luke, Jacob, Salvatore, Vito, Tressa and Jonah as well as several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by four sisters, Theresa, Jean, Antoinette, and Carolyn and three brothers, James, Fiore and Albert.

     Mrs. Michel’s funeral will be held on Friday, June 23, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mark’s Church, 440 Keyes Rd., N. Utica where her Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. She will be laid to rest with her beloved LeRoy in Calvary Cemetery in Utica. Visitation for family and friends is Thursday, June 22nd from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N.
