Obituary of Lois K McAllister

Mrs. Lois K. McAllister, 80, of Utica NY, passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2023, at MVHS-St. Luke’s campus in New Hartford with her loving family at her side.

     Lois was born in Richland Center, Wisconsin on June 27, 1943, the daughter of the late Olin and Esther (Grimstad) Larson.  She was raised and was a graduate of Westby High School.  She then attended the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.  On August 4, 1962, Lois was united in marriage to Larry H. McAllister at Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church, Westby, WI.  Mr. McAllister predeceased her on July 19, 2004, a blessed union of 42 years.  For many years Lois was employed by New York Telephone, which is now Verizon, as a switchboard Operator.  Lois had many things she enjoyed doing like gardening, baking, bowling, art and crafts, bible study and Tai Chi.  But most of all she enjoyed being wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

     Mrs. McAllister is survived by her daughter Mary Milone, Utica, sons Douglas McAllister, Rome, NY, Loren McAllister and his wife Lisa, Tampa, FL, William McAllister, Barneveld, NY, grandchildren Vanessa Winch and her husband Jesse, Brian Milone, Rachel Bright, Alex McAllister, great grandchildren Cory Winch, Avah Winch, Adelaide Milone, Evalyn Leak, a special ex son-in-law Stephen Milone, he was a great help on getting Lois to her doctor’s appointments, several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by a brother Anthony Larson, grandson Christopher McAllister and great grandson Issack Leak.

     Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Lois’s funeral service on Thursday July 6, 2023, at 12PM (noon), at Heintz Funeral Service, Inc. 1517 Whitesboro Street, Utica, NY.  Visitation will take place prior to her funeral service from 1oAM-12PM.  She will be laid to rest with her beloved husband Larry in Crown Hill Memorial Park, at the convenience of the family.
