Mr.  Gary Michael DeTota, 70, of Utica, passed away on Monday July 3, 2023, at his home.  Gary passed away peacefully with his loving family at his side.

     Gary was born in Syracuse, NY on September 18, 1952, the son of the late Frank and Virginia (Bush) DeTota.  He was raised and educated in Syracuse where he graduated from St. Patrick’s High School.  After graduation, Gary proudly served in the US Air Force from 1971 until his honorable discharge in 1975.  After serving his country he attended Syracuse University and received a Masters in social work.  He was employed by Central New York Psychiatric Center for most of his career until his retirement.  On July 3, 1982, Gary was united in marriage to Dale Ann Rowe, a blessed union of 41 years.  Gary was an avid boater, loved fishing, listened to Stevie Nick and Fleetwood and most of all enjoyed watching movies with his children.

     Gary is survived by his devoted wife Dale Ann, son Justin DeTota and his wife Missy, New York Mills, daughter Nicole DeTota, New Hartford and his best friend Carlo Warner, Syracuse.

     It was Gary’s wish that services are to be private and held at the convenience of the family.
