Obituary of Ann T. Siegenthaler
Mrs. Ann T. Siegenthaler, 94, of Verona Beach, NY, passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at the Hospice Siegenthaler Center in New Hartford, with her loving family by her side.
Ann was born in Utica, on March 31, 1929, the daughter of Charles and Kathleen (Scanlon) Kistner. She was raised and educated in Utica and attended Utica Free Academy. On June 11, 1949, Ann was united in marriage with George D. Siegenthaler at St. Patrick’s Church in Utica, a loving and devoted union of over 73 years, until George’s death on January 18, 2023. Ann enjoyed ceramics, fishing, boating, snowmobiling and traveling. She was a member of American Legion Post 1153 Ladies Auxiliary in Sylvan Beach and St. Mary’s on The Lake Church in Verona Beach.
Mrs. Siegenthaler is survived by five daughters and three sons-in-law, Katherine Nisiewicz of Manlius, NY, Eileen and Thomas Julian of Minoa, NY, Mary Ann Valenti and Daniel Wilczek of Utica, Joan Dresser of Utica and June and Paul True of Oriskany, NY; 17 cherished grandchildren, Joseph (Cathy) Nisiewicz, Jr., Tracey (Christopher) Arroyo, Thomas (Amber) Julian, Melissa Julian, Timothy (Sara) Julian, Danielle (Francesco) Riverso, Jason Valenti, Jennifer (Brian Potaczala) Valenti, Jaclyn (Andrew) Nicoletta, David (Deena Inserras) Yeomans, Nicole (Curt Fowler) Yeomans, Vincent Siringo, Ian (Elma Samardzic) Dresser, Michael Pula, Diana Pula, Eric (Whitney) True and Sarah True; sister and brother-in-law, Mary Lou and Patsy Faragon, as well as 31 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, George, Ann was predeceased by four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Katherine and Wally Towne, Bernadette Kistner, Agnes and Russell Anacker and Marie and Steve Baron; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Edwin and Lucille Kistner, Richard and Audrey Kistner and Charles and Theresa Kistner; son-in-law, Joseph Nisiewicz and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Anthony and Eleanor Siegenthaler.
Mrs. Siegenthaler’s funeral will be held on Monday, July 24, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph & St. Patrick Church, 702 Columbia St., Utica, where her Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. She will be laid to rest with her beloved George in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Yorkville. Visitation for family and friends is Sunday, July 23rd from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica.
