Obituary of Dennis Michael Caryl
Mr. Dennis Michael Caryl, 73, of Utica, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica.
Dennis was born in Utica, on February 28, 1950, the son of Dolores (Burns) Caryl. He was raised and educated in Utica and was a graduate of Proctor High School. For many years, Dennis was employed with LB Security and Investigations in Utica. He was a longtime member of the Magnificent Yankee Drum and Bugle Corps in Utica and was of the Catholic Faith. Dennis will be remembered mostly as a loving uncle to his cherished nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews who meant the world to him.
Mr. Caryl is survived by his sister, Linda Sinker of Utica; cherished nieces and nephews, Lisa Sepeda of NY Mills, Steven Hazeltine of Frankfort, Brian Hazeltine of Frankfort, Stacy Leone and her husband Rob of Frankfort, Dennis Hazeltine and his wife Jessica of Frankfort, Philip Sinker and his wife Denise of Clay, NY and Jason Sinker of Yorkville; his cherished great nephew with whom Dennis lived with, Justin Hazeltine as well and many additional great nieces and nephews and his feline companion, Leo. He was predeceased by his mother, Dolores; sister, Mary Lou Hazeltine; brother-in-law, Philip Sinker; nephew, Michael Hazeltine and lifelong best friend, Curtis Greene.
Mr. Caryl’s family will gather privately to celebrate Dennis’ life.
