Obituary of Susanne E. Hornsby

    Mrs. Susanne E. Hornsby, 73, of Utica, passed away on Sunday, August 13, 2023, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica, with her loving family by her side.

     Susanne was born in Whitesboro, NY, on January 18, 1950, the daughter of Patrick and Marion (Eular) Murphy and was a graduate of Whitesboro High School. On October 17, 1970, Susanne was united in marriage with Robert L. Hornsby, a loving and devoted union of nearly 53 years, until Robert’s death on July 27, 2023. For many years, Susanne was employed with Fleet Bank/Bank of America in Utica. She was an exceptional cook and baker and especially loved sharing her food and treats with family and friends.  She also had a strong loving bond with her canine companions, Boo and Bama.

     Mrs. Hornsby is survived by two loving daughters, Kathleen Galosich and her husband Thomas, of Munster, IN and Cheryl Siniscarco, of Utica, cherished grandchildren Jacob, Ryleigh, Noah, and Payton Galosich and Nicolina, Alyssa, and Rebekah Siniscarco; one great grandson Dominic and one brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Marie Murphy.

     Visitation for relatives and friends is Friday, August 18, 2023, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica, followed by a memorial service at 4:00 p.m. at the conclusion of visitation.
