Obituary of Douglas D. Stacks
Mr. Douglas D. Stacks, 70, of N. Utica, passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2023, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica.
Douglas was born in Utica, on October 27, 1952, the son of Kendrick and Marilyn (Bittecker) Stacks. He was a graduate of West Canada High School and Delhi Agricultural and Technical College. On July 8, 1972, Douglas was united in marriage with Nancy L. Adams, a devoted union of 51 years. For many years, Douglas was employed with his father in the construction field and more recently with Standflex Wire Company in Rome NY. Douglas was a gifted woodworker, had a green thumb for gardening, enjoyed cooking and loved to throw a good party. Douglas was a true family man, and an amazing father and grandfather whose family was most important in his life.
Mr. Stacks is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy; three children who he loved unconditionally, Nathan and Vanessa Stacks of N. Utica, Jessica Stacks and Jesse Loomis of Ilion and Daniel and Brittney Stacks of Rome; his mother, Marilyn Stacks of Coldbrook; six cherished grandchildren, Autumn (Phil) of CT, Alyssa, Aubrey, Emily, Danielle and Krysta; one brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Deborah Stacks of FL; one sister, Donna DeSantis of Coldbrook; brother-in-law, Michael DeSantis of Utica; sister-in-law, Evelyn Stacks of N. Tonawanda, NY; a special nephew and nieces, Michael DeSantis, Jenna DeSantis, Jennifer Stacks, Elizabeth Stacks and Denise Stacks and a great nephew, Robert Stacks. He was predeceased by his father, Kendrick and brother, Robert.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Douglas’ graveside service on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Adams St., Frankfort NY, followed by a celebration of Doug’s life at 1:00 p.m. at Fratello’s Pizzeria and Restaurant, 158 E. Main St., Frankfort, NY.
