Obituary of Janet C. Hahn
Mrs. Janet C. Hahn, 72, of Utica, passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at MVHS-St. Luke’s Campus in New Hartford with her loving family by her side.
Janet was born in Utica on January 27, 1951. She was the daughter of Edward, Jr. and Rosemary (Massago) Bonner. She was raised in Utica and was a graduate of Utica Free Academy. At one time, Janet was married to Dennis A. Hahn. From that union, their beloved son Dennis was born. For over 35 years until her retirement, Janet was employed by Blue Cross Blue Shield in Utica. Janet was a member of the NY Mills Senior Center, numerous prayer groups in the Utica area, and was a parishioner of the Church of The Sacred Heart and St. Mary, Our Lady of Czestochowa in NY Mills. She also enjoyed scrap booking, bingo, and her greatest joy was spending time and traveling with her beloved family.
Mrs. Hahn is survived by her loving son, Dennis Hahn and his husband, Richard Nicholas-Hahn of Utica; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Edward and Brenda Bonner of Utica and Paul Bonner of Utica; her cherished nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews, DeAnna and Tom Zaleski and their daughters, Allison Zaleski and her fiancé Arthur Zemanek and Katelyn Zaleski and her wife Hayley Pudney; Melissa Bonner and her sons, Jasyn Bonner and his girlfriend, Amber, and Ty (Stanley) Bonner; Stacy and Rick Kallen and their children, Cash Kallen and Sophia Kallen; Jason Bonner and his sons, Nick Bonner and Joe Bonner; a special cousin, Ethel LaBuz and three dear friends, Lois Hoyle, Patty Cerminaro and Martha Domser, as well as many additional beloved family members.
The Hahn and Bonner families would like to thank the staff at St. Luke’s, especially Amanda M., Susan P., Matthew V., and Maggie L. on the 6th floor for their kind, gentle, and compassionate care during Janet’s stay.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Janet’s Memorial Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at The Church of The Sacred Heart and St. Mary, Our Lady of Czestochowa, 201 Main St., NY Mills. The family will receive visitors in Church at the conclusion of the Memorial Mass. She will be laid to rest with her parents in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Yorkville.
