     Miss Erlene M. Evans, 71, of New Hartford, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 29, 2023.

     Erlene was born in Utica, on December 4, 1951, the daughter of Elliott, Sr. and Clara (Bowman) Evans. She was raised in Utica and was a graduate of St. Franics de Sales High School. For over 40 years, Erlene was employed with Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in Oriskany. She was a diehard New Jersey Devils and Utica College Pioneers Hockey fan, loved spending nights at the Utica/Rome Speedway with her dirt track friends and the true joy in her life was spending time with her cherished nieces and nephews. She was of the Catholic faith.

     Erlene is survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Mark and Mary Ann Evans of Rochester and Neal and Susan Evans of Utica; two sisters-in-law, Dolores Bach and her husband Don of Clinton and Gayle Evans of Arkansas; five cherished nieces and nephews, Donna and Larry Scarafile, Steven and Dana Evans, Laurie Casey, Christian Evans and Matthew Evans and his fiancée Lauren Yager; seven adored great nieces and nephews, Jessica and Justin Dooley and their sons, Blake and Bentley, Erica Evans and her partner John Perrott, Michael and Nicole Scarafile, Amanda and Kyle Rightmier, Brittany Casey, Brian Casey and Brandon Casey and five dear lifelong friends, Marlene, Eileen, Karen, Joanne and Laura. She was predeceased by her parents, Elliott and Clara and two brothers, Elliott (Chip) Evans, Jr. and Michel Evans.

     Visitation for family and friends is Tuesday, November 7, 2023, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica.
