Obituary of Geraldine "Geri" V. Schultz

     Geraldine “Geri” V. Schultz, 62, of Ilion, NY, passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at MVHS-St. Luke’s campus, New Hartford, with her loving family by her side.

     Geri was born in Utica, on June 8, 1961, the daughter of the late Walter and Barbara (Waters) Stefanski.  She was raised in Utica and was a graduate of Utica Free Academy.  At one time she was married to David Schultz Sr., her first love and father to her sons, Dan and David, Jr.  After the passing of her beloved, David, Sr., Geri moved to Pulaski with her dear friend, Thomas Shaw and fell in love with the Shaw family, Tim and Wendy Shaw and met her first grandchildren, Ashley and Elizabeth. She later moved back to Ilion, to London Towers where she made many new and dear friends. Geri worked at various places throughout her career, but especially enjoyed bartending at Sullivan’s for several years.  She was also employed at Eden Park Nursing Home in Utica and most recently, operated her own home daycare business.  She loved children and people and the friendships that she made.  She also enjoyed bingo, the casino and playing cards, but nothing was more important than hanging out with her cherished grandchildren.

     Geri is survived by her beloved son Daniel Schultz and companion Sasha Bilodeau, Utica; her adored grandchildren, Anabelle and Logan Schultz; sisters, Teena Davern, Ilion and Susan Stefanski, IN; sister-in-law, Rita Stefanski, New Hartford; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Wanda, Roberta, Margaret, Henry and Robert and numerous nieces and nephews.  Geri also leaves behind her loving friends and neighbors where she lived in London Towers, Ilion.  She was predeceased by a son David Schultz, Jr; brothers, Walter Stefanski, Jr. and Joseph Stefanski; sister Patricia Bardo; brothers-in-law, John Davern, Jack Bardo and Steven Ally; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Gloria and Donald and a special friend Thomas Shaw.

    Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to a celebration of Geri’s life on Thursday, November 9, 2023, from 1:00-3:00 PM at the Heintz Funeral home, 1517 Whitesboro Street, NY.k
