    Mr. Keith D. Sterling, 79, of New Hartford, passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at MVHS-Wynn Hospital in Utica.

     Keith was born in Utica, on May 23, 1944, the son of Guy and Ethel (Upson) Sterling, and was a graduate of Whitesboro High School. Keith proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1961 until his honorable discharge in 1965. In 1966, Keith was united in marriage with Kathleen Orr at St. Patrick’s Church in Utica. For many years, Keith was employed as an Electron Beam Welder with Lucas Aerospace in Utica. He was a member of West Schuyler United Methodist Church.

     Mr. Sterling is survived by his beloved wife, Kathleen; one son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Megan Sterling of New Hartford; five cherished grandchildren, Carli (Sterling) Rightmier and her husband Eric, Ali Lipinski, Sarah Sterling, Hannah Sterling and Jacob Sterling; one adored great granddaughter, Evelyn Rightmier; one sister and brother-in-law, June and Neil Reinhardt of KY and one brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Eileen Sterling of FL as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Guy Thomas Sterling and brother, Richard Sterling.

     Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Keith’s funeral service on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica. He will be laid to rest in West Schuyler Cemetery in Schuyler, NY.
