My sister, my first friend, I will miss talking to you. We had so many adventures together when we were young, and shared our stories when we got older. You had such a generous heart and were such a good mom to Tess and such a loving grandmother to her beautiful children. You will be missed!

If I could tell Melanie one more thing, it would be: thank you for being a buddy, I hope you knew what a special person you were, your laugh was the greatest, you had the best taste in chocolate (Dove!), you could always keep a secret, your work ethic was top notch, I loved that you loved cats, and finally it would be that I will never forget you, friend.

Working with Melanie was an privilege, an honor and a joy. She always gave everyone a smile and a laugh. For everyone on the night shift, she was our ray of sunshine in the morning. For me personally, Melanie was not just a co-worker, but was also becoming a friend. I wish it could have been longer and I will carry Melanie's friendship with me always.

Melanie was a strong woman who overcame many challenges to become a great Mom, Grandmom and kind-hearted person. I will always remember the way she beamed the first time I met baby Tess at camp. She obviously was filled with joy and love. She was wonderful with children and animals. This kind-hearted gem was taken from us far too soon. We will miss you deeply.
