Mrs. Dominika W. Prigl, 90, a resident of the Presbyterian Home for CNY in New Hartford, formerly of Schuyler, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024, at the nursing home.
Dominika was born in Bobenheim, W. Germany, on July 9, 1933, the daughter of Peter and Wilhelmina Hess and received her education there. In July of 1954, Dominika was united in marriage with Stefan Prigl, a loving and devoted union of 35 years, until Stefan’s death in 1989. Dominika was very proud to have received her American Citizenship in 2005. She was a 25-year member of the Utica Maennerchor and a parishioner of St. Mark’s Church in N. Utica.
Mrs. Prigl is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Hans Prigl of Schuyler and Heinz and Elizabeth Prigl of Prospect; three cherished grandchildren, Kurt Prigl, Corrine Prigl and Eric Prigl as well as several nieces and nephews in Europe. She was predeceased by her six siblings.
Visitation for family and friends is Saturday, January 27, 2024, from 12:00 noon until 1:30 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica, followed by a service at 1:30 at the conclusion of visitation. She will be laid to rest with her beloved Stefan in West Schuyler Cemetery in the spring.
