Mr. John Nelson, Jr. 73, a resident of the Oneida Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing, passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2024, at the nursing home.
John was born in 1950 to John and Barbara Nelson. John spent his early years enjoying the flora and fauna of the outdoors. Only a few could beat him at Monopoly. John was a voracious reader and writer and authored essays on historical events.
John is survived by his daughter, Jennifer of Massachusetts; siblings, Barb and Dean Kifer of Ohio, Ferrill Cassidy of Colorado, Judy and Eric Bouchard of Maine, Terri Nelson of Buffalo, and Kenneth Nelson of Buffalo, and a special aunt, Helen Nelson of West Seneca. John was predeceased by his parents and a niece.
John will be buried at Forest Hill Cemetery in Utica, New York.
