Obituary of Marques D. Williams

      Marques Dominique Williams “Guppie”, 39, of Utica, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 19, 2024.

     Marques was born in New Hartford, NY, on December 4, 1984, the son of Kenneth Williams and Robbie Jean Slade. He was raised in Utica and was a graduate of Proctor High School. At one time, Marques was employed with Voss Bar-B-Q in Yorkville. He enjoyed going to the casino, playing Madden Football and was an avid sports enthusiast.

     Marques is survived by his son, Kenyan Williams; daughter, Markeyona “Nuggie” Williams; father, Kenneth Williams; grandfather, Robert Slade; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Noel Woods and Sybell and Joseph Lentini; brother, Zavier Williams; aunts and uncles, Michele Williams, Brian Williams, Bridgette Dixon, Joanne Slade, Rory Slade, Delphine Slade and Darrell Slade; nieces and nephews, Aubri, Cienna, Tyvon, Zyquan, Ymajinae, Unijia, Derrick and Dy’ata; great nieces and nephews, Melody, Lyric, Harmony, Ramari and London and his life long friend, Jahari Brown. He was predeceased by his mother, Robbie Jean Slade.

     Visitation for family and friends is Monday, January 29, 2024, from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica, followed by a service at 12:30 p.m.  at the conclusion of visitation. He will be laid to rest in Forest Hill Cemetery in Utica.
