Obituary of Robert K Merry
Robert K. Merry, 82, of Marcy, NY passed away peacefully on the morning of Friday, January 26, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Robert was born on March 22, 1941, in Amsterdam, NY, the son of the late Kenneth Earl and Cleora (Miller) Merry. He was raised in Amsterdam, NY and graduated from Perth High School. He continued his education at Utica College and received a bachelor’s degree in business management. On August 18, 1962, he married the love of his life, Patricia D. Bergeron, a blessed union of nearly 62 years. Robert’s career spanned 38 years as an employee of General Electric/Martin Marietta/Lockheed Martin where he worked in various capacities in support of electronics manufacture for government and commercial programs. Robert was an avid fisherman and loved spending his summers at the family cottage on the St. Lawrence Seaway. Robert was very mechanically inclined and passed his passions for building and fixing things to his three sons.
Robert is survived by his beloved wife Patricia, three sons: Robert Merry Jr. and wife Lynn of Andover, CT, Darryl Merry and wife Sharon of Lanesville, IN, Brian Merry and wife Anne of Andover, CT, sister Margaret Merry of Amsterdam, NY, and five adored grandchildren Kyle, Jessica, David, Kendal, & Brenden Merry.
In keeping with Robert’s wishes there are no visitation or services planned at this time.
