Calvin Winston Obituary

Mr. Calvin Winston, 68, of Rome, NY passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at his daughter’s home in Utica.


     Calvin was born on December 31, 1955, in Utica, the son of the late John Winston and Bernice (Hunt) Archie.  He was raised and educated in Utica.  After school he entered the construction field and worked for a handful of construction companies locally before his retirement.  On July 16, 2016, he was united in marriage to the former Lisa Card, a blessed union of 8 years.  Calvin was an avid fisherman and loved BBQ with family and friends.  He also enjoyed cars, especially fast ones.


     Calvin is survived by his wife Lisa, three daughters Carletta Panzica, Andrea Winston, Jessica Rhett, three sons Calvin, Duke and Prince Winston, stepchildren Felicia and David Maxfield, brother Rudy Beaman, a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was predeceased by his parents John and Bernice and his siblings Rosemary Carter, Joyce and Thomas Archie and Charlene Subotick.


     Visitation for family and friends will take place on Friday, February 2, 2024, at 3-5PM from Heintz Funeral Service, Inc., 1517 Whitesboro Street, Utica, NY.  At this time there are no formal service or interment planned.
