Obituary of Shannon Rose Brown

Mrs. Shannon Rose Brown, 56, of Utica, passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at her residence, with her loving family at her side.

     Shannon was born in Waterbury, CT, on September 15, 1967, the daughter of the late Clayton Johnston and Rose Czternastek. Shannon was raised and educated in Utica and was a graduate of UFA.  On June 29, 1991, Shannon was united in marriage to James A. Brown, a loving and devoted union of 30 years, until Jay’s passing in 2021.  Shannon was employed by Wal-Mart, North Utica, for over 20 years, she was primarily a manager in the dry grocery department.  Shannon was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and her greatest joy was family.  She also enjoyed listening to live music, sitting around the campfire with her dear friends, and rooting on the numerous sports teams Jay supported.

     Shannon is survived by her loving children Jennifer and Rob Coombs, England, Jay Brown and Alyssa Dellerba, Utica, Erin and Will Tomaino, Utica, Cassidy Brown and Joe DiPrimo, Rochester, adored grandchildren Charlie, Theo, Seth, Rhys, Landon, brothers Nathan Johnston (Tracey Hamilton), Philip Czternastek and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

     Visitation for family and friends is Saturday, March 30, 2024, from 12(Noon)-2PM at Heintz Funeral Service, Inc, 1517 Whitesboro Street, Utica with a prayer service at the conclusion of visitation at 2PM.  She will be laid to rest with her husband in Carr Cemetery in the spring.
