Obituary of John R Leogrande

UTICA-Mr. John R. Leogrande, 63, of Utica passed away on Monday, April 1, 2024, at Wynn Hospital, Utica, with his loving family by his side.

      John was born on July 19, 1960, in New Hartford, NY the son of the late Robert and Joan (Taylor) Leogrande.  He was raised and educated in Utica and was a graduate of UFA.  John worked his whole career with Northland Communications as a cable technician.  On October 5, 2001, John was united in marriage with Kimberly White, a blessed union of 23 years.  John was a true outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, camping, cross country skiing, hiking, canoeing and especially golfing with his son, which was his favorite.  His true passion was his music and being a talented drummer since the age of 5 years old.  John was also a lifelong New York Jets fan.

     John is survived by his loving wife Kimberly; his adored son John R. Leogrande; sisters Patricia Leogrande, Rene Holland and her husband Bradley, Christine Ferro and husband John and Pamela Brown and her husband Patrick; brother David Leogrande; his lifelong friend, Timothy Moylan as well as several nieces, nephews, many many more friends too numerous to mention and his favorite feline companion, Mason.  John was predeceased by parents and his infant son Emmett. 

     Visitation for family and friends will be on Saturday, April 6, 2024, from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.  at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Road, N. Utica.  A prayer service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the conclusion of visitation.  Burial will take place in St. Agnes Cemetery, Utica at the convenience of the family.
