Peter F. Dolan Obituary

      Mr. Peter F. Dolan, 66, of Largo, Fl, formerly of N. Utica, passed away on March 30, 2024, in Florida.


     Peter was born in Utica, on March 26, 1958, the son of Francis and Elizabeth (Maher) Dolan. He was raised in Utica and was a graduate of John F. Kennedy High School. On May 21, 1988, Peter was united in marriage with Deborah Marchese at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church in Utica. For many years, Peter was employed as a postal carrier with the United States Post Office in Clinton, retiring in 2020. Peter was an avid baseball enthusiast and a diehard NY Yankees fan.  He enjoyed driving his car, which he referred to as “Isabelle”, playing softball and was of the Catholic faith.


     Mr. Dolan is survived by his daughter, Maryssa Dolan and her husband, Brandon Batson of Holland Patent; sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Francis Ferrara of Manorville, NY; two nieces, Elena Ferrara and Anastasia Ferrara and his former wife, Deborah Jones. He was predeceased by his parents, Francis and Elizabeth.


     Visitation for family and friends is Friday, April 26, 2024, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Peter’s Memorial Mass of Christian burial on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s Church, 422 Coventry Ave., N. Utica. He will be laid to rest in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Whitesboro. Those wishing to donate in Peter’s name, please consider the American Cancer Society at https://donate.cancer.org. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
