     Mrs. Marietta R. Zick, 102, a resident of the Eastern Star Home in Oriskany, formerly of Whitesboro, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2024, at the nursing home.

     Marietta was born in Utica, on March 3, 1922, the daughter of Edward and Esther (Collmer) Huss. She was raised and educated in Clinton and was a graduate of Clinton High School. On July 25, 1941, Marietta was united in marriage with August R. Zick, a loving and devoted union of 65 years, until August’s death in 2006. For many years, Marietta was employed with St. Paul’s School in Whitesboro. She enjoyed gardening and was an avid swimmer and sports enthusiast. Marietta was a parishioner of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Whitesboro.

     Mrs. Zick is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Karen Zick of Whitesboro; daughter-in-law, Christine Zick of Endwell, NY; four cherished grandchildren, Ben Zick of Philadelphia, PA, Sara Carson and her husband Matt of NY City, Andrea Kain and her husband Daniel of Deerfield and Michael Zick of Whitesboro and three adored great grandchildren, Lillian Zick-Carson, Greyson Kain and Cameron Kain. Besides her parents and husband, Marietta was predeceased by her son, Michael Zick and brother, Edward John Huss, Jr.

     Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Marietta’s Funeral Mass of Christian burial on Friday, May 31, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, 16 Park Ave., Whitesboro, NY. The family will receive visitors at the conclusion of the funeral Mass. She will be laid to rest with her beloved husband August, in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Whitesboro. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Marietta’s memory.
