Obituary of Jeanne Zielenski

Jeanne Zielenski, 92, a long time resident of South Trenton, NY passed away on Monday, June 3, 2024, with her family by her side.

 

Jeanne was born in Syracuse, NY, on October 4, 1931, the daughter of the late Anna (Duggan) and Augustus Catillaz.  Jeanne was united in marriage to Michael Zielenski, together they formed a family of seven resilient children.  After Mike's untimely passing in 1965, Jeanne attended St. Elizabeth’s School of Nursing and made a career of sharing her compassion for others as a nurse at St. Luke’s Memorial Hospital, New Hartford, NY.  Jeanne enjoyed reading books, the camaraderie and competition of playing cards, especially pitch, the arts and music, but most of all she loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and attending their school, musical and sporting events.

 

Jeanne is survived by her daughter Regina Ross, Barneveld, NY and her children Jason Ross (his children Kiaora and Quade) and Jesse Menard (his children Magnes and Madeline); son Michael Zielenski, Marcy, NY and his children Rachel Zielenski and Mike Zielenski, Jr; daughter Margaret McNamara (Brian McNamara), Holland Patent, NY their children David McNamara and Stephanie Witusik (her children Charlotte and Parker); daughter Susan Jamieson, Bentonville, AK and her children Chris Colorado, Nikka Colorado (her child Nora) and Mary Tessa Jamieson; son Thomas Zielenski (Grayce), Russia, NY, and their children Thomas Jr. (his children Jackson and Tyler), Alicia Zielenski and Austin Zielenski; son James Zielenski (Jeanette), Holland Patent, NY and their children Jimmy Zielenski, Jr., Jonathan Zielenski, Jennifer Zielenski, and Richard Zielenski; and daughter Anne Marie Zielenski-McGahey (Bob McGahey), Holland Patent, NY and their children Stephen McGahey and Ryan McGahey; her sisters Judy Granish and Mary Ellen Morgan and several nieces and nephews.  Jeanne also maintained a special bond with her step-daughter Patty Smith and step granddaughter Brittany Smith.  Jeanne was predeceased by her daughter-in-law Dawn Zielenski, her brother Rick Catillaz for whom she was grateful for his assistance during her times of need and her siblings Jim, Augustus, Gerald and Joan.

 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at 10:15AM from St. Mary’s Church, Marvin Street, Clinton.  Interment will follow where she will be laid to rest with her husband Michael.  Arrangements are under the direction of Heintz Funeral Service, Inc., 408 Herkimer Road, Utica.
