Obituary of Frank L. Capparelli

Mr. Frank L. Capparelli, 86, of Holland Patent, NY passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 15, 2024, at Crouse Hospital, Syracuse, NY.

     Frank was born in Utica, on November 5, 1937, the son of the late Louis and Irene (Passante) Capparelli.  He was raised and educated in Utica and was a graduate of Thomas R. Proctor High School.  Frank proudly served in the US Navy from 1956-1962 and was honorably discharged.  At one time Frank was united in marriage to Eva Katola, though their paths went different ways they remained close.  Frank was employed as a machinist at the former Bendix Corp. and later became Lucas Aerospace, Utica.  Frank enjoyed vintage antiques, coin collecting, photography and hiking, spending time at Neil’s garage with the guys.  Frank provided care for his Mother Irene for 8 years as she battled with Alzheimer’s disease.  He had a special K-9 companion that he enjoyed very much and was inseparable from his beloved Kratos.   

     Frank is survived by his devoted daughter Marlena Capparelli, grandson Richard Capparelli, Palm Bay, FL, sister Judi Capparelli-Schultz, Melbourne, FL, brother Kenneth Capparelli and his wife Judy, Utica, his ex-wife Eva, several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.  He also leaves behind the people that cared deeply for him, that would go out of their way to help him with anything he needed,  Kimberlei Treen, Mark (Chico) Capparelli and Danielle Sand all of Utica, a special bond with Melissa Alvarado, North Port, FL and Dawn Vatalaro-Yearby, Utica and her lasagna.

     Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Frank’s funeral service on Monday, July 22, 2024, at 11AM, from the Heintz Funeral Service, Inc, 408 Herkimer Road, Utica.  Visitation all be held prior to the funeral service from 10-11AM at the funeral home.  He will be entombed in Calvary Cemetery, Oneida Street, Utica.
