Obituary of Ronel M. Walsh

     Mr. Ronel M. Walsh, 80, of Sylvan Beach, NY, passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at Oneida Health Hospital, Oneida, NY, with his loving family by his side.

     Ronel was born in Utica, on February 11, 1944, the son of Stanley and Helen (Roberts) Walsh. He was raised and educated in Utica and attended Utica Free Academy. On October 2, 1976, Ronel was united in marriage with Christine M. DiFillippo. For many years, Ronel owned and operated, with his eldest son Ronel, Calder Auto Service in Yorkville. He enjoyed boating, fishing, car rides, spending time at his camp at Sylvan Beach and always enjoyed a good meal at one of the many diners he frequented. Ronel also enjoyed stock car racing and often participated in the races in the “funny car” he built.  He was of the Catholic faith.

     Mr. Walsh is survived by his beloved wife, Christine; one daughter, Melanie Walsh and Dan Furner of N. Brookfield, NY; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Ronel Walsh of Westmoreland, Jamie Walsh of FL, Shawn Walsh and Lisa Bianco of Clinton, Patrick and Briana Walsh of Utica and Melinda Walsh of Deerfield; seven cherished grandchildren, Kayla, Morgan, McKenna, Lilianna, Lucianna, Weston and James; two adored great grandchildren, Braelyn and Arabella as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by an infant grandson, Oliver and brother, Warren Walsh.

     Visitation for family and friends is Monday, July 29, 2024, from 5:00-6:00 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica.
