To my Nanna, I cannot find the words but I found this poem.
What is a Grandmother
A grandmother is a remarkable woman. She’s a wonderful combination of warmth and kindness, laughter and love. She overlooks our faults, encourages our dreams, and praises our everyday successes.
A grandmother has the wisdom of a teacher, the sincerity of a true friend, and the tenderness of a mother. She’s someone we admire, respect and love very much.
A grandmother will always have a cherished place in our memories and in our hearts. She’s someone for whom we want every happiness in return for the joy she always brings.
A grandmother is all the dear and precious things in life…. When she’s and grandmother like you.
Love Michael

A tribute to the world’s best roommate, Wendy Davidson!
My freshman year, my roommate skipped out to be with her boyfriend. When I was looking for a new roommate, I had the great fortune to meet Wendy, who was also looking for a roommate. We hit it off immediately, even though we had different fields of study.
At the time, I was dating Jim McCuin from Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. Jim and I fixed Wendy up with Bob Davidson from Jim’s fraternity. Wendy and Bob were two of the nicest people at UVM and a perfect match. I have seen the two of them throughout the years and they were still that wonderful, loving couple that we all aspire to be.
Wendy and I had a quad the following year and added Winnie and Cyndi to our group. Amazingly we all got along, and the only thing that did not go well was the booze we attempted to make in our closet. I do not remember anyone actually drinking it.
I think the best thing I did at UVM, other than getting a great education, was getting Wendy and Bob together. I know Wendy had a wonderful life with Bob. She will be missed by all who were lucky enough to know her.
Love, Betty Bowers McCuin

Where do I start? My Nana constantly ensured that my brother and I felt her support. Showing up to our football games, swimming meets, field hockey games, and softball games. She showed up to my games early, constantly being the first one in the stands. I remember one softball game when I was in Junior Varsity, one of my teammates asked if it was my grandparents (who showed up early) I obviously said yes. The girls on my team talked about how cute my grandparents are together, and how cute my Nana was. I appreciated when she would show up to field hockey games, even though I was sure she didn’t know the rules. I knew she would look forward to my brothers football games more, but she was a true and true football fan so who could blame her? She constantly talked to parents and grandparents of our teammates. Nana blended in with the crowd at Holland Patent, even though she bleed blue for Whitesboro.
Going to Lake George with her had to have been the best memories yet. She would sit on the dock with me in the early mornings when I wanted to fish, all because I didn’t want to touch the fish. Nana loved the lake, she enjoyed seeing her sisters and nieces and their kids. One year, she even dealt with me and my three fifteen-year-old friends. I was super happy to show my best friends my second home, and was thankful my grandparents agreed to let them come even though they usually only let me bring one friend. She always ensured we stuck together and had a great time, probably enjoying how lively the camp was.
My Nana was kind to anyone who came across her path, and treated my mom’s family as if they were her true blood family. She loved showing up to events and holding my cousins as babies, asking my family about how work was or how life was. Nana wouldn’t want us to dwell on the fact that she’s gone, but remember all the happy memories she made with us. So, remember her for her positives and her accomplishments.
I love you nana,
Your favorite granddaughter, Cadence

Though I haven't seen Wendy in years, the memories we shared as roomies are priceless. Wendy kept in touch with us through her annual Christmas letter with a synopsis of the past year in the life of the Davidsons. She continued doing this though the rest of us stop reciprocating years ago.
Her smile was contagious. When she flashed one in your direction, you couldn't resist smiling back no matter the the situation.
Years ago, she told me about her conversation with the real estate agent when she and Bob were looking for a house. As Wendy was pondering the pros and cons of each house, the agent remarked that it wasn't a situation to be taken lightly, "you don't trade in a house like you do a car". Wendy responded, "Don't know about that. This is our third house. I'm still driving Bertha!" (her first car)

My loving wife, Wendy
No one, anywhere, ever had a better wife than I did.
The houses we owned, the cars we drove, all the things that we possessed really don't matter much now. What really matters is that we had each other.
And we had a wonderful son, a wonderful daughter-in-law, and two outstanding grandchildren.
Your loving husband, Bob

Our sincere condolences to the family of Wendy. I had the pleasure of knowing her and shared many stories. Her loving heart always gave you a sense of “calm”. May she now find the “peace & calm” she has expressed to others throughout her years. I will forever remember her for her “big smile” and enthusiasm for life.
Hugs to the family,
Sincerely, Bridget & Shawn Barlow
