Obituary of Heather Noelle MacMaster

     Heather Noelle MacMaster, 37, of Westmoreland, NY, passed away on Monday, August 5, 2024, at SUNY Upstate University Medical Hospital in Syracuse after a long courageous battle with a rare sarcoma cancer. Heather was surrounded by her loving family at the time of her passing and was rejoined with her beloved horse, Bunk who died July 31^st.

     Heather was born in New Hartford, NY, on December 14, 1986, the daughter of Jacqueline Sheheen and Daniel MacMaster. She was raised in Utica, was a graduate of Proctor High School and earned her associates degree from SUNY Morrisville. At one time, Heather was employed as a bus driver with Birnie Bus Services, Inc. and currently with Centro Bus Company in Utica. She had a great fondness for horses and horse racing. Heather was of the Catholic faith.

     Heather is survived by her cherished daughter, her “princess girl” Olivia Dole; mother, Jacqueline Sheheen of Westmoreland; father, Daniel MacMaster of Tampa, FL; maternal grandmother, Phyllis Fenton of N. Utica; brother, Daniel O’Neill of NY Mills; aunts and uncle, Donna Laribee of Tampa, FL, Loretta and Mike Sullivan of Marcy and Cynthia Tehan of N. Utica; cousins, Brittany Sullivan, Michael Sullivan, Adrianna Smith, Dana (Zachary) Kennedy and Shawn (Julie) Laribee; a dear family friend, Paulette Sbarra of Holland Patent and her daughters father, Richard Dole, as well as several additional aunts, uncles cousins and dear friends too numerous to mention and her beloved horses, Reggie and Teddy. She was predeceased by her maternal grandfather, Raymond Sheheen; paternal grandparents, Clarence and Helen MacMaster and cousin, David Laribee.

     Visitation for family and friends is Monday, August 12, 2024, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica followed by a funeral service at 7:00 at the conclusion of visitation. She will be laid to rest on Tuesday, August 13^th at 11:00 a.m. at a cemetery to be announced.      Heather’s family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Atul Butala as well as the nurses and staff on the oncology units at Faxton-St. Luke’s Health Care and Wynn Hospital for the wonderful care you provided to her. A special thank you to Heather’s managers and coworkers at Centro Bus Company for the wonderful friendship you shared with Heather.
