Obituary of Vincent "Zeke" S. Zaleski
Mr. Vincent S. Zaleski, 85, of N. Utica, affectionately known as Zeke to his family and friends, passed away on Friday, September 13, 2024 at Wynn Hospital with his loving family by his side.
Vincent was born in Camden, NJ, on January 7, 1939, the son of Vincent and Helen (Palinski) Zaleski. He was raised and educated in Camden, NJ and was a graduate of Camden High School. After graduation, Zeke proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he honorably served for 23 years, retiring as a Tech Sergeant in 1979. On June 18, 1960, Zeke was united in marriage with Patricia Trzcinski at Holy Trinity Church in Utica. He later went to work with the United States Postal Service, retiring after 20 years of dedicated service. Zeke was a longtime parishioner, usher and member of the men’s club at St. Mark’s Church in N. Utica and a life member of American Legion Utica Post 229 in N. Utica. He also enjoyed golf, relaxing in his favorite chair watching TV and especially loved spending his Thursday nights at American Legion post 229 with his family and the Martin family.
Mr. Zaleski is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia; four sons, Paul and Christina Zaleski of Deerfield, Dr. Christopher Zaleski and David Bowen of Seattle, WA, Thomas and DeAnna Zaleski of N. Utica and Philip and Sheri Zaleski of Westmoreland; 11 cherished grandchildren, Matthew Zaleski, Victoria and Aaron Childress, Brandon Zaleski, Joshua Zaleski, Joshua Joseph, Allison Zaleski and her fiancée Arthur Zemanek, Katelyn Zaleski and Hayley Pudney, Connery Zaleski, Vincent Zaleski, Braelyn Riesel and Emma Riesel; two adored great grandchildren, Alexander and Avery Childress; sister, Elaine DelRossi of NJ; sister-in-law, Carol Graves and brother-in-law, Robert Trzcinski and Sharon Burdick as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister-in-law, Frances Krecidlo and two brothers-in-law, Frederick Trzcinski and Gerald Trzcinski.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Vincent’s memorial Mass of Christian burial on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mark’s Church, 440 Keyes Rd., N. Utica, where he will be bestowed military honors at the conclusion of the Memorial Mass. He will be laid to rest in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery at a later date.
