Mr. Philip Dominick DeGeorge, 67, of Utica, Passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at Wynn Hospital in Utica.
Philip was born in Utica, on July 8, 1957, the son of Joseph Dominick and Mary DeGeorge and received his education in Utica schools. For many years, Philip was employed as a meat manager with various local grocery stores, most recently Hannaford in New Hartford. He was an avid Star Wars enthusiast, NASCAR fan, as well as a big NY Yankees fan, John Wayne fan and a true “Movie Buff”. In his younger years, Philip enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a parishioner of St. Anthony & St. Agnes Church in Utica.
Mr. DeGeorge is survived by his loving daughter, Grace DeGeorge of Ithaca; long time partner, Lorrie Fernalld of Nebraska; beloved aunt, Carmella Rose of Utica; beloved aunt, Florence of Utica; many dear lifelong friends he made through his many years in the grocery industry, especially the Rondenelli family, Vannos family, Mitchell family and Phil Lagolbo, as well as many cousins, his feline companions Stormy and Tilly and grand dog, Muladhara “Squeak”. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Mary, beloved aunt Angela Rosa who loved him dearly, longtime friend, John Phoenix as well as many additional aunts and uncles and his grand cat, Jerry.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Philip’s Funeral Mass of Christian burial on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at 12:00 noon at St. Anthony & St. Agnes Church, 422 Tilden Ave., Utica. He will be laid to rest in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Whitesboro. In keeping with Philip’s wishes there are no calling hours.
