Obituary of Raymond F. Curtis, Jr.

    Mr. Raymond F. Curtis, Jr., 65, of Newport, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 22, 2024, at Alpine Rehab and Nursing Center, Little Falls.

     Raymond was born in Utica, on November 19, 1958, the son of Raymond F. Curtis, Sr., and Shirley A. Roberts. He was educated at Frankfort Schuyler Central School where he graduated.  Raymond was employed in the maintenance department at Utica Police Department and at Wonder bread.  At one time, he was united in marriage to Jennifer L. Rotundo for 36 years. Raymond enjoyed building, working on machinery, hunting, fishing and camping, especially at Wellesley Island Campground in the 1000 islands. The joy of his life was spending time with his 5 grandchildren. Raymond’s family would like to express their gratitude to Strong Memorial Transplant services for giving Raymond the gift of life for the last 14 years. He has been able to experience many important life events with his daughters, and for that they are forever grateful.  

     Raymond is survived by his daughters Crystal Licari and her husband Shea, Clinton, Megan Drennen, Newport, grandchildren Dominick, Ella, Julianna, Camille, Sophia, mother Shirley A. Curtis, Cooperstown, brother William D. Curtis and his wife Bethany, Marcy, sister Leslie Squadrito, Ocala FL, Aunt Mary Costantine, Clinton and many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his father Raymond F. Curtis, Sr.

     Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Raymond’s funeral service on September 30, 2024, at 6PM from the Heintz Funeral Service, Inc. 408 Herkimer Road, Utica.  Calling hours will be prior to the funeral service from 4PM-6PM at the funeral home.  Interment will take place at the convenience of the family.
