Mrs. Margaret E, “Peggy” Loomis, 83, formerly of Utica, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 21, 2024, at Bethany Gardens Skilled Living Center, Rome, where she has been a resident.

     Peggy was born on October 24, 1940, in Belmont, NY, the daughter of the late Sherman and Marion (Dame) Barcomb.  She was raised and educated in Utica and was a graduate of Thomas R. Proctor High School.  On June 6, 1959, Peggy was united in marriage to Gifford W. Loomis, Jr.  A union of nearly 60 years Mr. Loomis predeceased her on August 16, 2019.  Peggy was employed be Walt Disney World Resort, Orlando, Fl, working in the merchandising department throughout the parks in the gift shops.  In her spare time, she enjoyed puzzles and most of all loved her time with her family, especially her grandson Justin.

     Mrs. Loomis is survived by her daughters Christine (Steven) Downs, Clark Mills, Kathleen Gotte, Utica, grandson Justin Loomis, Utica, sister Deanna Ventura, Rome and several nieces and nephews.  She is preceded by parents Sherman, Marion, husband Gifford, siblings Ronald, Jeffrey, Lyle Barcomb, Barbara Alsheimer and grandsons Gregory Loomis and Daniel and John Gotte.

     Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Peggy’s visitation on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at 12(Noon)-2PM from Heintz Funeral Service, Inc., 1517 Whitesboro Street, Utica, NY.  There will be a funeral service following visitation at 2PM from the funeral home.  Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
