      Michael J. Rubin, 55, of Utica, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 8, 2024.

     Michael was born in New Hartford, on November 24, 1968, the son of Sheldon “Shelly” and Maryrose (Walsh) Rubin. He was raised in Utica, was a graduate of Our Lady of Lourdes grade school, Notre Dame High School and attended MVCC and St. Elizabeth Hospital School of Nursing. Mike was a parishioner of Mary, Mother of Our Savior Parish, Our Lady of Lourdes campus in Utica. He will most be remembered for his kind heart and joyful personality.

     Michael is survived by his son, Michael; twin daughters, Gabriella and Isabella; his mother, Maryrose Rubin of Utica; brother and sister-in-law, Dr. John and Kimberley Rubin of Richfield Springs, NY; four sisters and one brother-in-law, Colleen Falbo of Oneida, Betsy and James Kurdziolek of Utica, Mary-Kathleen Stoddard of Utica and Margaret-Mary “Mackie” Rubin and Hope Baker of Utica as well as several nieces, nephews and dear friends to numerous to mention. He was predeceased by his father Shelly and sister Maryrose “Opie” Rubin.

     Visitation for family and friends is Friday, November 15, 2024, from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica followed by a memorial service at 6:00 p.m. at the conclusion of visitation. Those wishing to donate in Mike’s memory, please consider Anita’s Stevens Swan Humane Society, 5664 Horatio St., Utica, NY 13502. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
