Obituary of Frank Carey, Jr.

Mr. Francis H. “Frank” Carey, Jr., 65, passed away on Friday, November 29, 2024, at Rome Memorial Hospital, Rome.

     Frank was born in Utica, NY on July 18, 1959, the son of the late Francis H. Carey, Sr. and Barbara Richmond.  Frank was raised and educated in Utica.  Frank was a dedicated employee of Sovena USA, Rome, NY where he was floor foreman in the warehouse.  Frank was an extremely hard-working man providing for his number one, his daughter Katie.  He was also an avid fisherman. 

     Frank is survived by his loving daughter Katie, her mother Christy Larmer, stepchildren Nathaniel Finch, Haley Larmer, Sarah Larmer.  He was a father figure to them even though they weren’t his biological children, he helped raise them.  He also has a sister Barbara VanCourt and her husband Bill, brothers Raymond Carey and his wife Linda, John Carey and his wife Karen, several nieces and nephews.  He is predeceased by his parents Francis Sr., Barbara and siblings Catherine Podkowka, Grace Larsen, Edward Carey.

     Relatives are respectfully invited to a viewing on Sunday, December 8, 2024, at the Heintz Funeral Service, Inc. 1517 Whitesboro Street, Utica from 2PM-4PM.  A Memorial Service for relatives and friends will be held for all to attend on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at 3PM from the funeral home.  There will be memorial visitation prior to the service from 1PM-3PM. He will be laid to rest with his parents in Calvary Cemetery, Oneida Street, Utica.
