Obituary of Doris Louise Piechowicz

   Mrs. Doris Louise Piechowicz, 95, of Utica, passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2024, with her loving family by her side.

     Doris was born on November 1, 1929, the daughter of Claude, Sr and Grace (Hawkins) Coe and received her education in Utica schools. On June 25, 1949, Doris was united in marriage with Chester J. Piechowicz, Sr. at Holy Trinity Church in Utica, a loving and devoted union of 46 years, until Chester’s death in 1995. For many years, Doris was employed in the Utica Knitting Mills. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed sewing and crocheting. Doris was a member of the Moose Lodge, Whitestown Vets Ladies Auxiliary and a parishioner of St. Joseph & St. Patrick Church in Utica.

     Mrs. Piechowicz is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Susan and Terry Simmons of Utica and Cynthia Muller and Sean Downs of Utica; one son and daughter-in-law, Chester, Jr and Tammy Piechowicz of Utica; eight cherished grandchildren, John Muller, Kimberly (Kevin) DiFillippo, Rebecca Price, Kyle (Michelle) Simmons, James (Stephanie) Muller, Jodie (Jody) Harvey, Michael Piechowicz, and Kayla Piechowicz; two sisters, Patricia Roth and Judy (Gordon) Murray; one brother, Harold Coe, Sr. and his wife and one sister-in-law, Sharon Coe as well as numerous great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Claude and Grace, daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen (John “Toby”) Muller, two sisters and two brothers-in-law, Eleanor (Angelo) DiFillippo and Grace (Steve) Prestel, three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Howard Coe, Richard Coe, Claude D. (Patricia) Coe, Jr and Shirley Coe and a dear friend, Clarence Cantor.

     Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Doris’ funeral Mass of Christian burial on Friday, December 13, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph & St. Patrick Church, 702 Columbia St., Utica. She will be laid to rest with her beloved Chester in Holy Trinity Cemetery in Yorkville. Visitation for family and friends is Thursday, December 12th from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica.
