Mrs. Violet (Gentile) Distante, age 87, of Clinton, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2025.
Violet was born on May 21, 1937, in Utica. Violet was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Spatuzzi) Gentile and was raised and educated in local schools. On September 6, 1958 she married John Distante, with whom she shared a devoted union until his passing on January 1, 2025. After 66 years of marriage, they are together again.
Violet was a homemaker who enjoyed making Sunday dinners for her family. She also enjoyed entertaining and hosting family get-togethers, especially during the summer for picnics in her backyard. Violet and John enjoyed traveling and spent many winters in Fort Myers Beach, Florida.
Violet is survived by her daughter, Anita Picente; her grandchildren, Andrea Picente and Brian (Sara) Picente; her great grandson, Milo Picente; as well as several nieces and nephews. Violet was predeceased by her sisters and their husbands, Marie (James) Talento and Theresa (Paul) Sansone; as well as her son-in-law David Picente.
In keeping with Violet’s wishes, there will be no public funeral services nor visitation. Entombment will take place in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum at the convenience of the family.
