Mr. Irving V. Jenkins, Sr., 89, of New Hartford, formerly of Utica, passed away on Monday, January 13, 2025 at Wynn Hospital, with his loving family by his side.

     Irving was born in Utica, on June 1,1935, the son of Irving and Alice (Beach) Jenkins. He was raised in Utica and was a graduate of Utica Free Academy. On June 24, 1961, Irving was united in marriage with Beverly Ann Fox at St. Francis de Sales Church in Utica. At one time, Irving was employed with Utica Rubber Stamp and Printing Company, later with Arlott Duplicator in Utica and for many years with Lock Head Martin in Utica. Irving enjoyed playing cards, especially pitch, going to car shows, bowling, was a talented wood worker and especially loved watching his sons play baseball, from minor league through high school and into MUNY league softball. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Holland Patent and was of the Presbyterian faith.

    Mr. Jenkins is survived by his beloved wife, Beverly; three sons, Irving V. Jenkins, Jr. and his wife, Anne (Sullivan) Jenkins of Utica, Robert Jenkins and Patricia Gorton of Brooklyn and Andrew Jenkins and Felicia Colosimo of Yorkville; five cherished grandchildren, Megan Jenkins and her fiancée Fred DelGenio, Taryn Jenkins and Seve Kowalski, Carly Jenkins and her fiancée Chris Pena, Samantha Jenkins and Drew Jenkins; one sister, Sandy Folks of MD as well as two great granddaughters and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his grandson, Todd Jenkins, two brothers and a sister-in-law, Al and Jean Jenkins and Thomas Jenkins and brother-in-law, Jack Folks.

     Visitation for family and friends is Friday, January 17, 2025, from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica followed by a prayer service at 6:00 p.m. at the conclusion of visitation. He will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery in Utica at the convenience of the family. Those wishing to donate in Irving’s memory, please consider the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N.
