Mrs. Jean Schreck-Darvoe, 74, of Hinckley, NY, passed away on Friday, November 23, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center with her loving family by her side. Jean was born in Utica, on January 17, 1944, the daughter of Guy and Mary (Specapan) Cappeli. She was raised and educated in Utica and was a graduate of St. Francis de Sales High School. On February 19, 2010, Jean was united in marriage with Raymond H. Darvoe. At one time, Jean was employed with Marine Midland Bank and for many years with HSBC Bank, retiring in 2004 as assistant manager. Jean was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening and camping, especially on Piseco Lake and Pirates Cove. She was of the Catholic faith. Mrs. Darvoe is survived by her husband, Raymond; two daughters, Kimberly DeFazio of Winter Springs, FL and Marybeth Crouse and her fiancé George Zervos of Utica; three sons and daughters-in-law, Ron and Tina DeFazio of Deerfield, David and Tara DeFazio of Utica and Stephen and Jennifer DeFazio of Winter Springs, FL; 15 cherished grandchildren, Michael, Stephen, Sarah, Anthony, Alicia, Mackenzie, Jenna, James, Vanessa, Allyson, Rachel, Chad, Joey, Miranda and Marina; one sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Tony DelDuca of Utica and one brother and sister-in-law, Gifford and Peggy Loomis of Utica. Also surviving are Denise and Mike Ezrow of Rochester as well as 12 great grandchildren and several niece and nephews. She was predeceased by Ronald DeFazio, Russell Schreck and her mother, Mary. Mrs. Darvoe’s funeral will be held on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony & St. Agnes Church, 422 Tilden Ave., Utica, where her Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Her Rite of Committal and burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Utica. Calling hours for family and friends are Monday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica.
