Charles P. Blum, 67, of New York Mills, passed away Friday, November 20, 2015, at home with his family by his side. Charles was born in Utica, on May 5, 1948, a son of the late Charles H. and Geraldine (Pole) Blum. He received his education in Utica Schools. On March 7, 1970, in Utica, Charles was united in marriage to Beverly Richmond. Charles worked for various employers, NYS Canal System, Hanyan-Higgins and Clarpor Poultry Co. His recent employment was at Turning Stone Casino, a position he held until his illness. Charles loved fishing, hunting and collecting antique bottles. Most important, Charles worshiped the time he spent with his wife, a devoted union of 45 years. Charles is survived by his wife, Beverly, three children, Raquel and Rocco Postilio, Deerfield, Scott and Colleen Blum, Marcy, and Stacey and Oliver Mazurowski, Schuyler, ten grandchildren, Rocco, Kayla, Ollie, Michael, Zachary, Brionna, Alyssa, Isabella, Jordan and Jyzell, four great grandchildren, a brother, Wayne Blum and his wife, Rose, GA, a sister, Colleen Coody and her husband, Ken, VA and many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. Mr. Blum's service will be held on Sunday, November 22, 2015 at 4:00 at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica. Calling hours at the funeral home will be prior to the service from 2 - 4. The family wishes to extent their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Hospice especially Cheryl and Irene.
