Mrs. Arlene K. McNally, 89, a resident of the Masonic Care Community in Utica, formerly of Whitesboro, passed away on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at the nursing home with her loving family by her side.
Arlene was born in Utica, on December 31, 1928, the daughter of Robert and Mildred (Chabot) Kennerknecht. She was raised and educated in Utica and was a graduate of Utica Catholic Academy. On January 22, 1949, Arlene was united in marriage with Robert M. McNally, Sr., a loving and devoted union of 37 years until Robert’s death in 1986. Arlen enjoyed cooking, baking, knitting, sewing, Crocheting and canning her fruits and vegetables. She also enjoyed spending time at her favorite place, the family camp in Forestport. Arlene will most be remembered as a devoted and loving homemaker, whose family, and especially her grandchildren, were the joy of her life. She was a parishioner of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Whitesboro.
Mrs. McNally is survived by her loving children and cherished grandchildren, Sharon and Thomas Schoen of Whitesboro and their children, Tom and Laurie Schoen, Jr., Kristen and Steve Shulsky and Kelly and Ray Alcuri; Patricia and Patrick Costello of Whitesboro and their children, Kimberly and Mike Gutmann, Lindsey and Michael Morse, Ryan Costello and Kerry and Eric Zegarelli; Robert McNally, Jr., of Forestport and his children, Robert McNally, III, Shauna McNally and David McNally; and Janet Bostic of Whitesboro and her children, Kyle Bostic, Jeff and Sarah Bostic, Rick Jr. and Amy Bostic and Brian Bostic and Sarah Goetz; one sisters, Irene Seidler of SC as well as 19 adored great grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren on the way and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four sisters, Marian Luley, Adeline Halpin, Doris Bergin and Joan Kelly and three brothers, Robert Kennerknecht, Alvin Kennerknecht and Edward Kennerknecht.
Mrs. McNally’s funeral will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s Church in Whitesboro, where her Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Her Rite of Committal and burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Whitesboro. Calling hours for family and friends are Friday from 4:00-7:00 at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica. Those wishing to make a donation in Arlene’s memory, please consider St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Mrs. McNally’s family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of the Masonic Care Community, especially Tarrytown Household, for the exceptional care and love you provided to “gram”.
