Patricia Knowles, 79, of Utica passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at Upstate Medical Center, Syracuse with her loving family by her side. Patricia was born in Clayton, NY on October 9, 1935, a daughter of Carl and Nellie Thibault. Patricia was currently employed with Seniors Helping Seniors and prior to this she was employed with Caregivers. She was a parishioner, choir member and Eucharist Minister of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Church, a member of Utica Opera Guild and Valley Voices. She was an avid painter with both oils and watercolors and in her spare time enjoyed fishing, gardening and square dancing. Patricia is survived by her three children, Annette Simpson and husband, James, of New Hartford, Valerie Levett and husband, Kenneth, of Utica and Allan Villeneuve, of Utica, a sister-in-law Cynthia Thibault, a brother, David Thibault and wife, Brooke, of CA, special companion, Sam DeMichele, of Utica, and nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Patricia was predeceased by a brother Freeman Thibault. Mrs. Knowles' funeral will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at 11:00 from St. Mary of Mt. Carmel / Blessed Sacrament Church, Utica. Burial in the St. Lawrence Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. The family will greet relatives and friends at the conclusion of the mass. Those so wishing may make donations to St. Mary of Mt. Carmel / Blessed Sacrament Church in Patricia's memory. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Utica Fire Department Engine 1, Ambulance and Fire Fighter J. Topa, who assisted with transporting Patricia to Syracuse, the doctors and nurses in the Neurological Intensive Care Unit and the Palliative Care people at SUNY Upstate for all the loving care given to Patricia.
