Margaret M. Brigham, 92, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare Center. Margaret was born August 14, 1923 in Utica, the daughter of Peter and Catherine (Fatchick) McHallick. She was raised and educated in the Utica Public School System. In 1941, Margaret married Edward Brigham in Hartwick, NY and moved to Edward's dairy farm in Litchfield, NY where they lived until his passing in 1979. She later moved to Sauquoit, NY where she stayed until 2014 before moving into the Presbyterian Residential Community in New Hartford. She was a former member of the Norwich Corners Church. Margaret was an avid gardener and baker of wonderful pies. Many in the Sauquoit area will remember her as their favorite babysitter. She enjoyed the Ukrainian art of pysanky (egg decorating) and attending the annual Ukrainian Festival in Utica. Margaret is survived by three sons, Gerald (Barb) of Litchfield, Gary of Sauquoit, David (Carolyn) Vero Beach, FL. ; one daughter, Bonnie (Gary)Cadden of Oneida Castle; eight grandchildren; Heather, Keri, Megan, Christy, Kelly, Brenda, Eddie, and Shannon; two great grandchildren, Te'a and Isla Margaret; a sister Anne Perry of New Hartford, and many nieces, nephews , cousins and friends at the Presbyterian Residential Community. Margaret was predeceased by a son Ronald; a sister, Helen; and two brothers, Frank and John. Mrs. Brigham's funeral will be held on Monday, September 14, 2015 at 11:00 a.m., at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica. Her interment will follow at Norwich Corners Cemetery.
