Carleen Ann Gilot, 67, was called to the Lord, Monday, September 7, 2015 in Utica, NY, with her family by her side. Carleen worked with Catholic Charities for the majority of her adult life, having spent 32 years there prior to retiring in 2013. Carleen enjoyed her years at Catholic Charities and had great passion in working with the many clients she supported and advocated for. Carleen was also very active in volunteerism, having contributed much time throughout the years to Operation Sunshine and the Girl Scouts. Carleen is survived by her husband, John Gilot, as well as her 6 adult children Michael, Kimberly, John, Kristen, Carleen, and Jack as well as their spouses, who brought much joy to her life. Carleen was blessed with and always looked forward to her interactions with her several grandchildren and great-grandchild. Carleen also leaves behind a host siblings, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving relatives and dear friends who enjoyed many happy moments with her. Carleen had a very special bond with her younger sister, Malinda, sharing many smiles and giggles over the years. Carleen enjoyed her pet cats and gardening, taking tremendous pride in her beautiful gardens. Friends, former colleagues, acquaintances and relatives are invited and may call to honor Carleen at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Road, North Utica, from 10am-12pm on Saturday, September 12. There will be a brief memorial service at conclusion of this wake.
