UTICA - Francis "Frank" G. DeGiacomo, passed away, Saturday, August 8, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica. Frank was born July 27, 1953 in Boston, MA, the son of John and Helen (Whitney) DeGiacomo. He was raised and educated in Boston. Frank served his country with the US Army during the Viet Nam War. On November 5, 1977, Frank married Diane Lamandia in Forestport, NY. He enjoyed going out to dinner with family and friends. Frank loved spending his time with his family, especially his granddaughter, Jayla. Frank is survived by his beloved wife, Diane, Utica; a daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer DeGiacomo and her husband, Josh Zayas; a son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Patti Lamandia, Norwich; three cherished grandchildren, Jayla Zayas, Noah and Isabella Lamandia; a sister and brother-in-law, Kathleen and Danny Murray, MA; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, John and Carol DeGiacomo, MA, Joe and Lillian DeGiacomo, MA, and Stephen DeGiacomo, MA. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews as well as two special friends whom he thought of as daughters, Colleen and Kathy Griffin. He is predeceased by a sister, Joan DeGiacomo, and a brother, Salvatore DeGiacomo. Mr. DeGiacomo's funeral service with Military Honors will take place on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at 11 am at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., North Utica with Rev. John Beuhler presiding. Interment will take place privately at the convenience of the family. There are no public calling hours. The family offers their thanks and heartfelt appreciation to the doctors, nurses, and staff of St. Elizabeth Medical Center for the care and compassion shown to both Frank and his family during his stay.
