Harriet F. Capalupo, 90, of the Valley Health Services, Herkimer and formerly of North Utica, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 with her loving family by her side. Harriet was born in Utica on January 24, 1925, a daughter of Anthony and Helen (Jagugenski) Kobosinski. Harriet married Angelo R. Capalupo at Holy Trinity Church on March 10, 1945. She attended Historic Old St. John's Church and St. Peter's Church, in Utica. Harriet always enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening especially herbs and flowers, reading and camping but family was always first and foremost in her life. Harriet is survived by her beloved husband of 70 years Angelo, her three children, Susan Capalupo, of Herkimer, Mariangela Fontanez and husband David, of Dover, DE and Michael Capalupo and wife Susan, of Horseheads, NY, five cherished grandchildren and spouses, Eric Capalupo and wife Joanie, Kristen Griger and husband Dave, Marisa Zegarelli, Nicholas Zegarelli and wife Tricia, Leighann Harris and husband Nathan, and a sister, Betty Cummings and husband Harry, of Utica. She is also survived by 14 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Harriet was predeceased by an infant daughter Frances Capalupo, two sisters, Helen Miazga and Sister Mary Theresa Kobosinski and three brothers, Stanley, Zygmunt and Anthony Kobos. A Memorial Funeral Mass for Mrs. Capalupo will be held on Friday February 20, 2015 at 10:00 at Historic Old St. John's Church, Utica. There are no calling hours. Those so wishing may make donations to the Valley Health Services or St. Jude's Children's Hospital. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Valley Health Services for all the loving care given to Harriet.
