Mrs. Charlotte A.(Zaleski) Bednarczyk, 88, of N. Utica, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare in New Hartford. Charlotte was born in Herkimer, NY on April 12, 1926, the daughter of Joseph and Theodora (Warsocki) Zaleski. She was raised and educated in Herkimer and was a graduate of Herkimer High School. On February 19, 1949, Charlotte married Lawrence F. Bednarczyk at St. Joseph's Church in Herkimer, a loving union of 65 years. For many years, she was employed with General Electric Company in Utica retiring in 1984. Charlotte was a former member of Holy Trinity Church in Utica and St. Peter's Church in N. Utica and currently a parishioner of St. Mark's Church in N. Utica. Charlotte enjoyed cooking, baking, dancing, crocheting, playing the piano and traveling with her husband. Mrs. Bednarczyk is survived by her husband, Lawrence; one daughter, Elaine Bednarczyk of Utica; one son, Ronald Bednarczyk of Huntsville, Alabama; two grandsons,, Miki Bednarczyk and Stefan Bednarczyk both of Huntsville, Alabama; a sister-in-law, Adeline Zaleski of West Winfield and two brothers-in-law, Chester Bednarczyk and Joseph Bednarczyk both of Utica, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Helen Bell and Ida Weber and two brothers, Joseph Zaleski and Adam Zaleski. Mrs. Bednarczyk's funeral will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at 9:15 a.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica and 10:00 at St. Mark's Church, 440 Keys Rd., N. Utica, where her Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Her Rite of Committal and burial will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery in Yorkville.
