Mr. Jack Edward Holloway, Sr., 78, of Utica, passed away on Monday, November 24, 2014 at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare in New Hartford. Jack was born in NY City on March 16, 1936 the son of Benjamin and Lessie (Epps) Holloway. He was raised in the Bronx, NY, earned a bachelor's degree from Morgan State University in Maryland and a master's degree in criminal justice. He proudly served in the US Army. On June 18, 1976 Jack married Ana L. Ramos in the Bronx, NY. For many years, Jack was employed with the Division of Parole retiring as Senior Parole Officer. Mr. Holloway is survived by his beloved wife Ana; three daughters, Alicia, Amy and Sjana; two sons, Alvin and Jack, Jr.; six cherished grandchildren, Yolanda, Aicila, Jasmin, Amanda, Jaiden and Jayson, three adored great grandchildren, Isabelle, Eva and Aiden; one sister, Vivian Coppin; in-laws, Armando and Geraldine Ramos and Marion Isaac as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Jordana, one sister, Joyce and two brothers, Ronald and Larry. A Memorial Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Church, 422 Coventry Ave., N. Utica. His interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
