Mrs. Marion L. Gillette, 74, of Whitesboro, passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare in New Hartford. Marion was born in Utica on August 29, 1940 the daughter of George and Elizabeth (Amberg) Mosher. She was raised in Utica and was a graduate of Whitesboro High School. On February 27, 1960, Marion married Leon A. Gillette. Leon passed away in 1987. for 30 years, she was employed with Prestige Meals on Wheels, a job she truly loved. She was a parishioner of St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church in Whitesboro and loved her pets. A loving mother and grandmother, Marion especially enjoyed spending time with her family. She always put others first before herself and family meant everything to her. Mrs. Gillette is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Suzette Gillette of Whitesboro and Mark and Nancy Gillette of Whitesboro; a sister-in-law, Faye Richmond of Syracuse; six cherished grandchildren, Justin, David, Kylen, Matt, Markie and Scotty as well as 3 adored great grandchildren. Also surviving are nieces and nephews who loving called her aunt Memie and whom Marion treated as her own; Keith and Debbie Buckingham, Dawn Murphy, Karen Buckingham, Diane Buckingham, Sharon and Mike O'Connor, George Mosher, Greg Mosher and Alicia Mosher. She was predecease by a sister, Arlene Buckingham and brother, George Mosher. Mrs. Gillette's funeral will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica. Her Rite of Committal and burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Whitesboro. Calling hours for family and friends are Wednesday from 4:00-7:00 p.m.
